Meursault Genevrières 1er Cru "Cuvée Baudot" 2018 – Hospices de Beaune
The Domaine des Hospices de Beaune, often called a "winemaking hospital," has a rich legacy spanning over five centuries. Founded in 1457, when Jean Guillotte le Verrier donated vines to the Hôtel-Dieu in Beaune, it established a tradition of philanthropic vineyard donations as a gesture of gratitude. Wines from these plots, known as "Cuvée," often carry the name of the donor family, making each barrel a reflection of history and heritage.
Vineyards & Auction Prestige
Today, the Domaine covers 60 hectares, with 85% of the land dedicated to Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards. Each year, these exceptional wines are offered at a prestigious auction held on the third weekend of November, attracting collectors and wine enthusiasts from around the world.
Élevage – Meticulous Aging for Full Expression
For the 2018 vintage, under the guidance of head winemaker Roland Masse, the wines were harvested and prepared for the auction. As auctioned barrels are still very young, they require careful aging. My father, with over 35 years of experience as a wine negotiator, oversees a 16–18 month élevage process, ensuring each barrel is matured with respect for its terroir. This process enhances the subtle nuances, complexity, and full expression of the Meursault Genevrières 1er Cru "Cuvée Baudot", allowing it to reach its true potential.
Experience Burgundian Elegance
This 2018 Meursault offers Singaporean collectors and wine enthusiasts a rare opportunity to enjoy a wine that embodies centuries of Burgundian tradition, meticulous craftsmanship, and refined elegance, making it a perfect addition to any prestigious cellar or as a thoughtful, high-end gift.
